A tiny surprise in a hole in the base of a bald cypress, about two and a half feet above the waterline -- a nest full of baby Prothonotary Warblers. If we hadn't seen the adult bird, we would have paddled right by them.

We have Barn Swallows (?) which nest on our front porch every Spring/Summer. Pretty soon the babies' heads will be poking out. Then comes the fly-bys.
