So many nights, my wife or I will be seen stopping our cars in the dark and rainy streets, ushering errant frogs to safety.Keith "Nurse Keith" Carlson, RN, BSN, NC-BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03581947410641941224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130345056737567192005-10-26T12:44:00.000-04:002005-10-26T12:44:00.000-04:00oops-i meant BIRD death!oops-i meant BIRD death!Silver Zephyrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08600671332518243798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130345029529386012005-10-26T12:43:00.000-04:002005-10-26T12:43:00.000-04:00...getting a bell on malcolm's collar helped somew......getting a bell on malcolm's collar helped somewhat. i'd say it has cut down on birth death by 60%. i wish i could convince the cats that they need to be indoor only. they were until about my now husband moved in with his dogs and they decided to pee on everything. now, they are so happy going outdoors, i would feel terrible making them stay inside.Silver Zephyrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08600671332518243798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130282858712263622005-10-25T19:27:00.000-04:002005-10-25T19:27:00.000-04:00That last photo of green frog on green leaf is jus...That last photo of green frog on green leaf is just so beautiful. The only critters they hunt are the ones that dare to come inside: mice, the occassion skink, the odd snake or two, and (Silver Bullet's favorite prey)grass spiders. We did have a wren to get in one time -- unfortunately it was while we were at work. Sadly, the cats dispatched it :(swamp4mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03500364141244115390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130250813773389502005-10-25T10:33:00.000-04:002005-10-25T10:33:00.000-04:00Silver Zephyr - I do! I love the cats, but they just hang around the ponds waiting for a frog to surface.

Not much problem with birds though - very seldom do they catch a bird.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130207277930822992005-10-24T22:27:00.000-04:002005-10-24T22:27:00.000-04:00Lovely.Sigh. Then the rain and suddenly they were everywhere.

I love frogs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130149542378212142005-10-24T06:25:00.000-04:002005-10-24T06:25:00.000-04:00t. beth, the noise of the frogs during the breedin...t. beth, the noise of the frogs during the breeding season is quite impressive - particularly the green treefrogs. The air literally pulsates with their calls.

cookie jill, I am especially fond of the tiny little cricket frogs. They vary in color from nearly red to green to tan and are very impressive leapers.

AC, I feel certain you would have seen the cricket frogs at least. The treefrogs are easy to spot once you develop your "frog eyes." ;)swamp4mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03500364141244115390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1130110563979716382005-10-23T19:36:00.000-04:002005-10-23T19:36:00.000-04:00I love the picture of the green treefrog, it reall...I love the picture of the green treefrog, it really does match the leaf.
