Maybe you'd consider posting this photo and your story as well.

I've been zinged by a water bug, and buddy it HURTS. Good on you for not crushing the little ingrate out of anger. There are 4 genera and 23 species in North America. This little guy was just crawling along my finger and everything was lovely until he got to my wedding ring. Then, zing! He zapped me. I brushed him back onto his duckweed mat and made a mental note to avoid picking up anymore red-eyed devils in the future :)swamp4mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03500364141244115390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1157278553533965832006-09-03T06:15:00.000-04:002006-09-03T06:15:00.000-04:00I presume that you found out about their antagonis...I presume that you found out about their antagonistic biting the hard way.Ontario Wandererhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13766128144351262255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10279728.post-1157245005395664022006-09-02T20:56:00.000-04:002006-09-02T20:56:00.000-04:00Heh, and it doesn't take much provocation for them...Heh, and it doesn't take much provocation for them to bite.
