Paddle with me for a while. I want to show you something.
But we must be quick because here the fall palette is subtle and it doesn't last long.
Don't forget to look down from time to time. The dark water makes an excellent mirror on calm days and provides interesting patterns on windy days.
Just remember, the camera can't see with the heart, so come with me and see what I see...

It's a good place to be.

We have N. sylvatica, N. biflora, and N. aquatica -- no shortage of gums here!

Glad you could come along.

The temps have been mild the past few days - lows in the 50s highs in the 70s. It is supposed to be getting cooler toward the end of the week though. We have only had one frost so far this year and it wasn't a true killing frost.

You're welcome. One of these days you will have to wander down this way and see the place for yourself.
"Just remember, the camera can't see with the heart, so come with me and see what I see..." That is so lovely.
Reminds me of some other lovely lines: "I’M going out to clean the pasture spring;
I’ll only stop to rake the leaves away
(And wait to watch the water clear, I may):
I sha’n’t be gone long.—You come too."

Thanks. I know of a spring that probably needs to be cleared -- you can come along.
As November spreads her shroud over northwest Ohio, I do long for soil that yeilds under your step and water that tosses frgarnce and light back toward the treetops.
