Random Shots

It has been a very pretty fall here. Sort of a surprise considering how hot and dry our summer was.  This will probably be my last shot of color for the season.  I was actually trying to catch the mallards, not the foliage.

The deer have been absolute road hogs this fall...

Control panel issues have plagued us the past couple of weeks so I've spent a lot more time down at the bridge lately. While it does put me way behind on other things I need to get done, it does have its up-side...

Evidence of an early morning visit by the two young bobcats that have been hanging around. I even found where one had eaten river cane leaves to purge some worms from its stomach -- yes, I took a picture, but I'll spare you ;)

Mother Nature is still providing some color down near the water...

Last Hurrah?

There has been plenty of insect activity out in the yard lately. We still have a good number of flowers in bloom that attract butterflies, bees and assorted other insects which in turn attract a variety of predators. All that may change tonight -- we are expecting our first hard frost. The insects will still be around but the flowers are going to be toast.
