Maineiac, Such puzzles are good for the brain :) And yes, they are the tracks of some sort of animal in the muck on the bottom of a puddle. And I found them just not too terribly far from your camp. Now, what sort of critter left them there to tease you?
Angie, Not lizard skins, but they are the sign of some sort of animal. Can you guess whose feet would leave such prints?

They were freaking me out yesterday. Now they're really freaking me out.
I can't figure out the size. Are they alligator prints?
