cathy, If I seek them out I can see a fair number in a year's time. Usually though, I see copperheads quite infrequently here. When I lived in the piedmont section of NC I saw them much more frequently. Such a beautiful snake -- to admire from a distance, of course ;)

I see that the swamp is alive with snakes these days. They're very pretty ... in pictures.
Kinda looks like a corn snake to me. Another reason not to get close enough to see their eyes!! ;-)
