Dill Worms

Seems the black swallowtails (Papilio polyxenes) have been visiting the garden. We found several caterpillars helping themselves to the dill and parsley. Munch on little cats!

What beautiful caterpillars! They make much lovelier additions to the herb garden than the slugs and earwigs that have decimated my basil and parsley.

Wow! They really are beauties! I'd rather see them than the giant lubbers (grasshoppers) any day!

woodswalker,
The uglies in our garden this year have been the squash bugs and the Japanese beetles :)

nfmgirl,
They really are pretty -- it's hard to begrudge them a bit of the dill and parsley.

sally,
Thanks! We don't mind sharing with most of the local critters.
