It's Everywhere!

Yikes! Good thing I'm not the paranoid type or else I might think this slime mold stuff was taking over the world. Today I found these clumps of fruiting bodies just outside the office over in the work swamp. Interesting...

I don't know about you, but I'm a little disappointed with the level of slime with this so-called slime mold. Is it underperforming, or could this just be a wooly mammoth thawing out? You know, all of that ice man cometh sort of thing?

"sshhhhh, here she comes.everyone clump together and look dry...after she photos us and leaves, we'll continue oozing towards world domination ... or maybe just towards the gap under Swampy's front door ..."

Bloggy, the white stuff from which the fruiting bodies spring (sprang? sprung?) is the slime part. I'll see if I can't find some dog vomit slime mold for you. And yes, that's what it's called: dog vomit.

FC -- it can't get in. I already took the precaution of stuffing a towel in the gap. :)

Zephyr...you may be on to something. Not wigs, but troll hair! I know, they are the tops of subterranean troll heads. Sneaky devils...

Slime molds were the one thing I could identify from my Plant Bios course! But I don't think I could have identified this one . . . eww.
