Down By The River

Life on the edge can be tough. Particularly for trees living along the shore of a coastal river...

Oh, yes! I spent my afternoon photographing tree textures today, too. Am visiting the Hill Country, TX and was so enthralled with the different trees compared to those in the Northeastern US and Canada. Nice shots!

kaholly,
There is something oddly compelling about tree textures, isn't there? You find yourself wanting to reach out and touch the wood.

I love those shoreline trees with their roots exposed. Yours could be here.

FC,
This particular spot does give you a feeling of being further south. Lots of live oaks near the shore line.

What a mesmerizing place. I love scenes like this: wooden sentinels holding the earth in place for as long as they can. These are just splendid photos!

jason,
It's a pretty park, with swamp and marsh and river all in close proximity. A great place to spend a day.
