Triplicats

Posted by Picasa

The triplicats enjoyed all the extra laps that were available over the Thanksgiving holiday, but they were particularly fond of No. 1 son Hippie's lap. They spent many a contented hour keeping him company during his visit.

Friday and Smidgen have been "fixed" and Weasel is waiting for her turn at the vet's. We believe in spaying and neutering and we also feel that cats should be kept indoors. Thus, the kitties have pretty much taken over the house and consider anything and everything a toy. Today they followed me from room to room as I did a little housekeeping. Cleaning the toilets seemed to be especially fascinating to them and changing the sheets has become one of their favorite activities. My big cat, Wiki, is not amused by their antics for the most part -- although, I have spied her playing with them when she thinks I'm not looking.

Damn cats ;)

My kitty still loves the change the sheets on the bed day. I keep thinking at 15 years old and 6 units of insulin she would start slowing down.

dani,
I'm happy to hear that your mature kitty still has spunk!
I once had an older cat who enjoyed having the bed made over her. She would wait until I got the fitted sheet on and then plunk herself in the middle of the bed and stay there as I put on the top sheet, blankets, and quilt. Then she would sleep the day away in her nice clean lair. You just gotta love 'em ;)

Swampy-I'm beginning to wonder if excess curiousity is normal in black cats. Slyvester follows me around the motorhome constantly to see what is going on! He's always checking out the toilet when it flushes and his favorite habit is to sit on my lap while I'm on the toilet.

Maineiac,
These cats are into everything -- and they fear nothing. They are also sink kitties. I often find Weasel nestled in the bathroom sink waiting for me to finish my morning shower.

They're related to Slyvester for sure. I wake up in the morning sometimes to find him in the bathroom sink. Of course, he learned that from Mattie. He also likes the closet. Preparing food is interesting as he frequently wants to jump into the skillet.

I agree fixing domestic animals is a good idea, and keeping kittys in the house extends their life. In both cases it's win-win moves. My Abby was spayed when young, (she's 10 years old now), and never goes out of the apartment. She does, however, check out the birds and squirrels. She gets lots of loves, and seems happy.

Our kitties (5 indoorsies) have an unusual attraction to the vacuum cleaner.
Not a bad deal, as you can imagine 5 cats leave quite a furry mess!

Maineiac,
Smidgen is my kitchen nightmare. He has no manners and we are having a hard time convincing him that the stove top is no place for a kitty.

Uncle Bear,
I have had my cats indoors for years and they do tend to be healthy, happy and long-lived. Give your Abby a snuggle for me!

nina,
The three siblings will follow me around as I vacuum, but Wiki can't stand the machine and will run for cover when I pull it out of the closet. It has been a long while since I had four cats in the house and I'm having to re-learn food management ;)
