Stink Bugs

Posted by Picasa

Yeah, I know they aren't in focus...but they're still pretty, right?
Nymphs of the Florida Predatory Stink Bug, Euthyrhynchus floridanus.

These guys are all over the place this time of year. Must remember to be careful when I'm out turning leaves over looking for caterpillars...

Those are some pretty bugs! I wonder if you could preserve them and use them as Christmas ornaments. (Just kidding!) Do the babies release as much stink as the grown-ups do?

woodswalker,
Maybe you could just pay them to hang out on the Christmas tree ;)
I don't know if the little one release as much stink. After seeing these guys eat bees I'm a little wary of that proboscis!

They're quite attractive! And as woodswalker pointed out, there's a rather festive holiday color scheme going on.

Oooo - very pretty. And they eat bees? Amazing. There's a lesson in this somewhere...

Wow, love those colours. We only get the greenish stink bugs, they're not nearly as stunning.
