A myotis inside a hollow tree. This bat was several feet above my head inside a tupelo gum tree. It may not be the best picture, but hey, I was lying on my back across the bow of my canoe holding a flashlight in my mouth. Gimme a break :) Posted by Hello

This bat is very small...it would result in a lilliputian Batman.

And it would hardly be worth Ozzy's time to bite its head off...

It took me a little while to figure out the angle of this one... my brain almost couldn't handle the idea of sticking your head in such a place!!!

Now you've got me wondering about all our hollow trees... but I think I need a camera on a stick. :)

Came here by way of Karen at Rurality. You have a fantastic blog, with sumptious nutritious (and frequent!) meals.

We've been watching our bats for several years, pretty sure they're little browns, they moved into an ornamental wing of the house (unconnected) - now number about 600. Not quite Mammoth Cave, but we're getting there. It's quite a trip when they come in in the morning.

Earlier you had a nice pic of red-bellied water snake (not to mention the moccasins!). Found a great little red-belly just the other day and posted about it!
