It is extremely easy to overlook this plant. Once you know what to look for though, they become easy to spot. We haven't noticed them being associated with any other particular plants. However, many of the populations we have found have been in areas where there are at least a few pines. Of course, here in NC, just about any place has at least a few pines :)
