Thought I would show you just a
few of the ticks I came in contact with yesterday at work. These are Lone Star ticks - both adults and nymphs. In the fall the larval stage, known as seed ticks, will be a plague.
As you can see, duct tape is a wonderful thing. A few taps along your pants leg and you can simultaneously capture and contain the little blood suckers. Awesome!
And now you must excuse me. It's time for work and I need to find another roll of tape.

Oh, gross! At least in my office job, the bloodsuckers are metaphorical.
wren,
LOL...I think I prefer the ticks!
Blimey, a constellation of ticks in a silvery sky of duct tape (now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write ...)
crowe,
But, as usual, you wrote it well :)
Dang! I though tick tape was a closely guarded Ozarks secret.
And, as we both know, seed ticks are only visible to the naked eye when they inhale. They become microscopic when they exhale. Dabbing yourself with tick tape is the only way to remove them.
Wow, never thought I'd say it, but I think I prefer our northern version of those little beasts.
End result is still the same though.... great post!
Marvin,
Tick tape is the answer! I introduced one of our new employees to the wondrous benefits of this product during last year's seed tick season. He is now a believer and carries some with him all the time.
Michelle,
North or south, they are pestiferous little critters!
