Cool Dragon

Green Darner, Anax junius
You have to watch your step around here on these cool mornings lest you step on a dragon.

Too Cool! He looks like a cyclops with one eye. And the detail in the wings is marvelous.

Wow, nice one. I don't think I've ever seen one of those before.

Very nice find. I have not seen a green darner around here.

All our dragonflies tend toward earth colors (other than eastern pondhawks). That is a very cool dragon indeed.

denapple,
Don't you just love a nicely cooled down insect? So much more cooperative than a warmed up one ;)

rurality,
Green darners are pretty common around here. I like a dragon with some heft to it!

wayne,
Some of the other darners are pretty colorful, too. If only the blasted things would sit still long enough for me to get a decent look!!

No Guy,
Thank you very much!

Sally,
Thanks, I'm glad you like the photo.

Her wings look like a map of sorts--holding some great secret . . .

She could be the protagonist . . .
