Horsefly, Waiting

Sorta makes you want to stay inside the truck...especially when it starts rubbing its not so little legs together in anticipation :)

Somehow I liked the caterpillar from the last post better than the horsefly but then I've never had a bad experience with a caterpillar, yet. Thanks for adding to my knowledge of bugs and beasts!

I've had many unpleasant close encounters with horse flies. Thanks for such a memorable photo.

This is like a shot from a horror movie. Truck breaks down in remote swamp. Horse fly settles on the windscreen. Then another. And another. The sky darkens ... someone begins to scream ...

Gee, what a comforting thought to take with me into my remote swamp in my truck that has already broken down once... :)

There were about 30+ horseflies swarming the truck when I took this particular shot. Surprisingly, when I got out of the truck (way out in my remote swamp) the horseflies didn't bother me at all. It was very strange. Such in life in the wetlands.

Yes, that was strange. Probably they have a Bigger Plan Afoot :->
