It was so beautiful out today that at lunchtime I grabbed a canoe and headed out onto the pond. Have you ever loved a place so much that it actually hurts? :)
Is this the pond I might get lucky enough to be introduced to if I make it down to NC one of these days? It's absolutely beautiful. I'm tossing around the possibility of a November trip.
About loving a place so much it hurts, yes indeed, and thank you for that.
There's been days so beautiful with the air so perfect and the skies so blue and the hawks calling that I've been moved to feel that if I died at that moment I wouldn't mind.

Yep, this is the one. November is a nice month to visit. If you decide to come, email me at the link in my sidebar and I'll send you directions.
Yes . . . a long time ago . . .
Nice! What are those fat-bottomed trees? :)
The broad-leaved "fat-bottoms" are Tupelo Gum, Nyssa aquatica, and the ones with needles are Bald Cypress, Taxodium distichum

Thanks. I visited your site and got a real kick out of your observations -- particularly the toes over the flip-flops and the bronzer comment :)
