Country Mouse Takes a Trip

My bag is packed and I am headed out the door to make the five hour trip to Charlotte, NC. For the next week or so I will enjoy the amenities of city life ( yes, I admit that there are a few) and visit with relatives. But, I will miss my woods and swamps and I will miss reading your comments and visiting your blogs. So have a great week and don't do anything too exciting while I'm gone!

C'mon back now, y'hear?

I thought of you last night: my wife and I were driving home from the movies in the driving rain. There were frogs all over the roads, escaping the floods, I guess. Many had already been squashed by cars. We drove with the headlights on high, dodging leaping frogs, as well as those frozen in fear. At one point, I jumped out of the car and ushered a huge frog, the size of half my foot, urging him across the road to safety.

I said to my wife, "I'll have to email my Swamp Thing friend about this!

Ah, Keith's comment reminds me of our favorite book in the house, "Tuesday." Though no froggies had tire marks on them in the book.

A visit with family...hmmm...I might take the wildlife myself!

Thank you for the new desktop wallpaper.

I made it here after you were linked off of the Sparkleberry Springs/Niches site. And now you'll be linked off of my Blog as well. Thanks.

Great photos. I can't replace my little point-n-shoot Olympus with a Nikon soon enough!

I'd love it if you (and your interested readers) would check out my eco-centered Blog as well. Taming of the Band-Aid.

Thanks again, and please travel safely!

Have fun swampy!

Hey Mr. Bloggerific I bought that book for one of our nieces - it's her favorite.

Have fun, Swampy!

Not making any promises on the "exciting" thing. *grinning*
But I promise to catch you up when you're home safe and sound.

Rurality, your niece is obviously a very wise member of the family, and only better for having you to give such kickin' gifts. My son likes the other works from the same gent. 7 Sector 7 (I think that’s the name) is also a favorite, but he likes it better when I “read” them because Daddy makes the bestest noises and voices. :)

you naughty swampy--home and no new pics from the city?

I'm sure there are city critters to capture on that camera of yours . . .

You're not back yet?
I'm having frog picture withdrawals. :(
Oh...and a quick question. Can frogs really change sexes if there are an overabundance of one more than the other?

That's it, I'm taking a nap. Someone please wake me when the froggies arrive.
