anon, Kingsnakes are pretty common around here. But even though I see them frequently at work I still get excited each time. I saw a total of four the day this photo was taken. Other snakes seen that day included black racers, black rat snakes, and rough green snakes.
NOW I'm envious! I've occasionally seen adders when I go hiking in Cornwall, but the sound of my clumpy boots sends them slinking into the undergrowth before I get a closer peek. But you see snakes getting busy - and photograph it!

WOW! You know how lucky you are to have found 2 Kingsnakes in the act much less just finding one! Awesome!
