Tattle Tails

Sometimes all that noise in the brush is just an overzealous brown trasher or towhee...but sometimes it's snakes gettin' busy :0

Eastern kingsnakes, Lampropeltis getula getula, busy making baby kingsnakes.

SIL,
;) Nope, Slick is still celibate. These were wild and crazy work swamp snakes.

WOW! You know how lucky you are to have found 2 Kingsnakes in the act much less just finding one! Awesome!

anon,
Kingsnakes are pretty common around here. But even though I see them frequently at work I still get excited each time. I saw a total of four the day this photo was taken.
Other snakes seen that day included black racers, black rat snakes, and rough green snakes.

FC,
Envy? You, who have gopher tortoise living at PFHQ? For shame ;)

NOW I'm envious! I've occasionally seen adders when I go hiking in Cornwall, but the sound of my clumpy boots sends them slinking into the undergrowth before I get a closer peek. But you see snakes getting busy - and photograph it!

Bird,
Yep, the swamp is a snaky place ;) I am fortunate to live here.
